The European Commission’s Joint Research Centre (JRC) has prepared a package of two reports defining the concept of End of Waste (EoW) and the waste types suitable for this classification.

Regulation (EC) No 1069/2009 laying down health rules as regards animal by-products and derived products not intended for human consumption and repealing Animal by-products Regulation was published in the EU’s Official Journal on 14 November 2009.

The European Court of Justice has heard the case for the annulment of Regulation (EC) No 1013 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 14 June 2006 on shipments of waste.

General guidance on the co-processing of waste as alternative fuels and raw materials in cement production has been produced by the Basel Convention.
