A Cimeurope Consortium is being put in place to prepare a joint Registration dossier (including the technical dossier, chemical safety assessment, chemical safety report, exposure scenarios and guidance on safe Use) for flue dust from cement clinker production. This substance covers the EINECS entry “Flue dust, portland cement” with EC number 270-659-9. The substance is defined as follows: a complex combination of finely divided inorganic particles separated from the exit gases formed during the manufacture of cement clinker which is produced by thermal processing of raw materials (naturally occurring minerals and/or alternative raw materials) and fuels (fossil and/or alternative). Broad concentration ranges for total clinker phases, raw materials, alkaline chlorides, alkaline sulfates and other minerals complete the substance identity.
The Consortium is open to all companies (legal entities) which are manufacturers or importers of the above mentioned substance or to only representatives of outside EU manufacturers of that substance.
