Final global climate talks take place in Bonn

The second-last round of global climate talks before the Cancún summit in December have taken place in Bonn. The major topic for discussion was a revised version of the negotiating text for a global climate treaty, the scale of emission reductions from industrialised countries and a possible legal vacuum between Kyoto’s first and a second commitment period after 2012.

There will be one last United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) meeting in Tianjin, China in October before Cancún.
