Jean-Paul Méric re-elected as CEMBUREAU President for one-year term

London 15 June 2010 - Mr Jean-Paul Méric (France) has been re-elected as President of CEMBUREAU for a further one-year term at the General Assembly of the European Cement Association held today (15 June 2010) in London (UK).

Jean-Paul Méric has been Director General of Ciments Français since 1991, when he became responsible for the group’s activities in France and Belgium, and subsequently in the US, Canada, Morocco, Turkey, Greece, Bulgaria and Kazakhstan.  In July 2006 he became responsible for the group’s activities in France, Belgium, Spain, Morocco and North America. 

In addition, Mr Ignacio Madridejos Fernandez (representing Latvia – President Cemex Northern Europe Region, Cemex) has been elected as Vice-President of CEMBUREAU for a one-year term.

About CEMBUREAU

The European Cement Association based in Brussels is the representative organisation of the cement industry in Europe. Currently, its Full Members are the national cement industry associations and cement companies of the European Union (with the exception of Cyprus, Malta and Slovakia) plus Norway, Switzerland and Turkey. Croatia is an Associate Member of CEMBUREAU.
